At the foot of the main staircase in the Cristobal
Colòns Mansion in Pennsylvania, hangs a
portrait of The Spanish Admiral
                Cristobal Colòn, painted many years
after his death, but bearing the motto of
the family in its old form:

"Por Castilla et por Leon, Nuevo
Mundo Hallo 
Colòn";

the english translation is
"For Castile and for Leon, Colòn
Found a New World"

Pennsylvania's travel slogan, is
"America starts here,"
Cristobal Colòns ancestor Victoria Colòn
died, she left her niece Mathide (also
a Spaniard), the Diego Colòns
Chapel.  

Colonel Boal (Continental Army)
constructed a stone chapel building
on his estate, and brought from Spain to
Boalsburg (city in Penn), the
entrance door and the interior of the
Colòn Chapel with everything it contained-
fine paneling and woodwork, the choir
loft with a great escutcheon of the Colòn
familiy on the railig, its colored panels showing
the castle of Castile, the lion of Leon,

the Spanish Admiral's anchors,
the islands of the Indies, and the colors
of Spain with an eagle).

In the 5th century Toribius, a young Spanish nobleman,
went to the Holy Land, where, under Juvenal, he became
keeper of the Sacred Relics which St. Helena had brought
together in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
