                               Hispanics Christianized the Roman Empire

                                  Hispano/Romans

Adriano (Hadrian) a Roman Emperor/a Spaniard

Adriano improved the legal system of Rome. He had his experts codify the edictum perpetuum (the set of rules gradually elaborated by the praetors for the interpretation of the law.) He also appointed four former consuls to serve as circuit Judges in Italy.

Regarding the expansion by war, Hadrian sought carefully delimited but defined frontiers, with client states beyond them whereever possible. The frontiers had no natural barriers, for example, in Britain, Adriano's (Hadrians) Wall, a complex of ditches, forts, mounds, and stone, went across the British island from the Tyne to the Solway.

And within the frontiers, the armies were kept at full strength.

Year 136, Adriano like Augustus had no son of his own and no heirs, he adopted Lucius Ceionius Commodus, renaming him Aelius Caesar, who died shortly.

Year 138 he chose as a 51 year old senator Titus Aurelius Antoninus who had no sons and adopted two sons, Marcus Aurelius (the nephew of Antoninus wife), and Lucius Verus (son of Aelius Caesar)

Aurelius' wife was also of Spanish origin as were her adopted sons.
