Subject: Cristina de Borbón 1879

Hi Judy:

This is Spain. I´m trying to find information about the wedding of Alfonso XII and Cristina de Hapsburgo in order to know the real origin of a original picture showing the footlegend "Cristina de Borbón 1879"

The picture shows a tower next to a house with mountains backwards and a road in front of them and we suspect it may be near the birthplace of Maria Cristina de Hapsburgo married with Alfonso XII in 1879.

Thanks in advance

Jorge Lázaro

In my search for my family name's origin I have come across a crest for the Urch family with the word Catalogne written beneath it. My family came from the Bristol area of England, but my research leads me in the direction of Spain.

Does this name appear in any of your research? Thank you for any help that you can provide in advance.

this might be a long-shot, but i suppose i must start somewhere.

my father once told me a story about a past relative who was a general in one of the various spanish armies. I'm not exactly sure when or what his exact name might have been. . .something along the line of Berarda or Bararda. Now, supposedly he mounted a revolution against the presiding ruler which failed. Many of those who fought with him were put to death, but due to his success in past campaigns his life was spared but he was exhiled. He left spain and settled in Cattavilla in the Abrutzzi province of Italy where he carved a fountain in the middle of the town.

That's how the story was told to me. I was wondering if you have know or have seen any information pertaining to this gentleman. The only other useful piece of info is that they called themselves the Red Devils.

I've been looking for quite some time for anything that might mention a story remotely close, but most of what I come across is written in Spanish and unfortunately Russian is my second language.

If you know of anything that sounds vaguely familiar, please let me know.

many thanks, James Berardi

Do you know where I can search for the Tellez-Giron family and descendants who immigrated to Mexico?

My great grandmother was Clara Tellez Giron Mendoza de Ortiz but my family goes by the name Giron. As far as I know, my family has been in the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez (El Paso del Norte) area since the late 1700s.

Thank You
R. Giron

Hi, I was surfing Rev. War stuff and came across your page, I am researching Baca as my Great-Great-Grandmother was Maria de la Cruz Baca born 1834 in New Mexico Terr. possibly San Jose? otherwise unknown she married a Cruz Gonzales who was born in 1830 and died in 1869. Maria de la Cruz Baca later remairred another Baca. I have heard the original Baca was a War hero in Spain in the ,what 1400 ,1500? earlier ,later? and was given a land grant in the southwest. Any Information you have or any sources you can direct me to concerning the Baca surname would be greatly appreciated

Thank you Craig Mayhan

I am trying to get some info on tracing surname GUZMAN. Some family members clame it is German, I think it is Spanish. My great grandfather landed in San Salvador in the 1700's. Trying to trace him back to the home land. Any suggestions?

Thanks
